Cedar Backup v2.10.1 Released
Cedar Backup v2.10.1 has been released. This release includes two major
enhancements and a lot of code refactoring, cleanup, minor bug fixes,
and other work.
The changelog is large, so I won't include it in this email. You
can find it here:
http://cedar-solutions.com/ftp/software/changelogs/cedar-backup2
The first major enhancement is the addition (finally!) of support for
DVD writer devices. Cedar Backup now supports DVD+R and DVD+RW media
through the growisofs and dvd+rw-mediainfo utilities.
The second major enhancement is a new extension called 'encrypt'. This
extension uses GPG to encrypt Cedar Backup staging directories and
backup discs.
The DVD writer enhancement drove much of the refactoring and cleanup.
While I was in there, I took the opportunity to do reorganization in
other places where I saw the need. Although there were a lot of
organizational changes, there were not a lot of functional changes, and
the existing library interface should remain unchanged.
Thanks to Dmitry Rutsky for feedback during the development cycle, and
for being willing to help test this code before it was officially
released.
